The food is good! The area we were seated at had an ant problem and we had ants on our table. But other than that very friendly service!

Good Mexican food option in Edinburgh. Large quantities. Good chips and salsa. Good margarita.

Nice find in Edinburgh (only 5 min from Camp Atterbury). Menu was quite hard to read, but apparently has a lot of options. I had the Carnitas. Service was super fast and delicious.

This place used to be great, but I just had my worst experience ever. I ordered 2 dinners & a side of queso cheese, which was 30$ after tax & tip carry out. I got home & realized I didn't get the queso, so my wife went back & they called us liars & said they gave it to us. I'll never eat there again.

This is a local gem. Any time I am in the area, visiting Brown County SP, Nashville, or Edinburgh shops, I make the trip to El Jefe.

Fantastic food. Was in at 6:30 on a Saturday night. They had us in and out in about 30 minutes.

From the outside this place don't look like much and the inside is really not that much better but the service was amazing . It was a very busy night the place was packed but no issues getting what we needed. The food was just as amazing. I would recommend El Jefe to anyone.

Very friendly environment. Employees were very pleasant and attentive. I ordered the a la diabla I think it was called. Spelling might be wrong. It was a large quesadilla filled with chicken, chorizo, peppers & onions, and cheese. With side lettuce/pico/sour cream. I also order a side of rice w/cheese. All came to under $15! I think that's very well priced for the amount of food you get!

Have been there several times in the past and the food was outstanding, this trip not so good. Maybe it was just a bad day, but everything tasted the same. I will probably try it again.

I enjoy Mexican food. I have been to a number of Mexican restaurants. Wow!!! Even a taste of a plain tortilla from my enchilada was remarkable. The tamale...amazing. The cheese over it all...again, Wow! Then the decor takes it to another level. I wish I lived closer, this would be my new favorite place

The Food was Good, but the place was kinda dumpy. Don't think the a/c worked very well, pretty warm in there. Needed new lights in the bathroom, barley worked. Menus felt greasy. .

What a hidden gem. Food was Washo awesome. Prices were insanely cheap. It will be a regular visit for sure.

We ordered the wet burritos. We thought we would be getting normal size burritos. The waiter brought the out and they were bigger than the kid in the next seat over! I'd definitely go back to El Jefe again.

Love this place! Great Mexican food in small town America. The staff is extremely fast and very attentive. I've been there several times for lunch and never had to wait to be seated. The prices are reasonable, the salsa is really good, and the food is ways great!

Great place! Whenever im in Edinburgh I always eat here. Great prices, huge portions, friendly staff. Salsa is a little bit spicier than the average Mexican restaurant . Definitely recommend this one!
